EPS and XPS boards are class E under TS EN 13501-1, meaning combustible. The terms “non-combustible” and “A1” are used for Mega products only in connection with stone wool and stone wool-based products. This is the class of the board or block and does not describe a whole system such as ETICS.
What is Megaboard, and what do the other brand names mean?
Megaboard is a brand name used on the thermal insulation boards of Mega Yalıtım and the group company Megataş: it appears as “Megaboard” on Mega Yalıtım’s XPS and EPS boards and as “megaboard taşyünü” on Megataş’s stone wool boards. The other names distinguish the product families:
- MegaBlock: A family of wall blocks with stone wool layers. Thermal is for thermal insulation and Acoustic for sound insulation; BC is stone wool with an acrylic plaster coating, used in front of columns and beams.
- MegaLento SW: A composite masonry lintel used to span door and window openings. It is a load-bearing building element, not an acoustic or vibration product.
- DesiWool: A composite panel used on interior surfaces for thermal insulation and to reduce airborne sound transmission; it is not positioned as an absorbent panel that reduces echo.
- MegaTech: The construction chemicals brand. Its product codes start with MTA, MTP, MTD and MTC.
- Fullback: The waterproofing brand, with single-component acrylic-based liquid products and two-component Fullback Duo products.
- Megafoam: A lightweight EPS fill product used in road and soft ground fills; it is not a facade or ETICS product.

The dowels, mesh and profiles used in ETICS are not part of the Mega product range; these parts are chosen according to the documentation of the system in use.
Where are Mega products made?
Not all Mega Yalıtım products are made at the same facility; the manufacturer and place of production vary by product family. So the phrase “Mega product” does not mean that every product is made in Elazığ.
- Stone wool boards: According to the note in Mega stone wool technical data sheets, they are made at Megataş A.Ş. production facilities in accordance with TS EN 13162+A1. Megataş Taşyünü İzolasyon Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. is a group company.
- XPS and EPS boards: The manufacturer is Mega Yalıtım.
- MegaBlock, MegaLento SW, DesiWool, MegaTech and Fullback: Offered under the Mega brand. The stone wool in DesiWool is made by Megataş.
